Trish Kinane
Trish Kinane's career spans all television genres. Her experience in producing and creating children's, documentaries, youth and magazine formats sits alongside a recognised expertise in entertainment programming and game shows. As Joint Managing Director of Action Time she oversaw one of the UK's leading production companies and helped develop it into one of the world's leading format creators and distributors. She is now Chief Executive of the newly formed LUDUS.

After University in Wales Trish travelled the world and spent a year working for the newly launched SABC in Johannesburg. In 1977 she returned to the UK and joined Granada Television as a scriptwriter, then researcher and by 1981 she was producing network magazine shows as well as entertainment programmes ,including films about celebrities like Ingrid Berman and James Mason, and a raft of game shows.

Trish then joined Tyne Tees Television in 1987 as Controller of Entertainment and Children's programmes ,where she was Executive Producer of a diverse range of Network and Regional programmes including the Montreux Jazz Festival and the 1988 Princes Trust Concert from the Albert Hall, London.

She was appointed to the ITV Network Children's Committee in 1987, and the ITV Network Daytime Committee in 1988.

1990 saw a move to 24 hour Productions (now Planet 24) to be Executive Producer of the first series of the highly acclaimed Channel 4 youth programme ‘The Word’.

She also spearheaded, as Director of Programmes, the franchise bid for North of Scotland Television before joining Action Time as Director of Programmes in 1991.

At Action Time Trish instigated, created and produced a wide range of programming, and developed relationships with key broadcasters and producers in the UK and abroad. She was appointed Joint Managing Director in 1996, and she was closely involved in the expansion of Action Time's International operation which became one of the leading format distributors in the world.

In 1993 Trish joined with Stephen Leahy in effecting a management buyout of 70% of Action Time from its owners Carlton Communications and Paramount Pictures. Then, in 1996, they sold the company back to Carlton agreeing to five year personal contracts which ended in October 2001. Trish and Stephen have now launched LUDUS, a company which specialises in creating, and creative management of entertainment formats worldwide.
